Job Posting: Events Manager

MOFAD is seeking an Events Manager to plan, manage, and execute its events. The Events Manager will work closely with the museum’s business development team and will be responsible for fundraising events, dining events, brand-sponsored events, and offsite outreach, as well as private venue rentals. This is an opportunity to be part of New York City’s next great cultural institution.


  • Coordinate MOFAD fundraising events, including the MOFAD Spring Benefit Dinner and the Fall Exhibition Premiere

  • Produce monthly experiential dining pop-ups at MOFAD Lab, working closely with the museum’s culinary and programming teams

  • Market, sell, close, and maintain venue rental opportunities, while investigating new market trends and event listing sites

  • Meeting revenue goals set with senior management will be a core goal

  • Serve as on-site manager for events, including setup and breakdown

  • Work with senior management to create new fundraising event concepts, including dining and tasting events

  • Manage and execute brand-sponsored events at MOFAD Lab

  • Create and maintain all event timelines and budgets

  • Serve as a primary point of contact with vendors and culinary event talent

  • Prepare financial reports for presentation to senior management and the Board

  • Lead MOFAD participation in external fairs and festivals


  • Commitment to MOFAD’s educational mission, approach, and values

  • At least three years of professional event production experience required

  • Flexibility to work events in evenings and on weekends

  • Willingness to do whatever it takes, including menial or custodial work

  • Familiarity with culinary industry standards and practices, particularly in fine dining

  • Familiarity with chefs and restaurants in the NYC area

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • High standards for quality and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple demands under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including extended standing or walking and lifting small furniture items, such as banquet chairs and folding tables

  • Ability to produce high-quality marketing collateral using software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Microsoft Office Suite a plus

  • Familiarity with CRM databases, especially Salesforce and PatronManager a plus

  • Valid driver’s license a plus

  • Culinary and/or beverage training a plus
