Job Posting: Floor Manager
MOFAD is seeking an individual to run day-to-day floor management at our exhibit design studio MOFAD Lab. You’ll be in charge of ensuring our space is welcoming for all guests. You will oversee the visitor experience and ensure day-to-day operations function properly.
This is a part-time, temporary position that begins ASAP and ends on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Compensation is $16/hour. Note: this position requires a 20-25 hour/week commitment on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Supervise volunteers, docents, and Visitor Services Associates
Manage MOFAD’s facilities, including maintaining cleanliness and organization, and coordinating services with cleaners, laundry, waste disposal, compost, pest control, and security (including maintenance log)
Manage daily exhibition floor preparation and upkeep
Assist and support Culinary Studio Chef
Oversee maintenance on museum facilities, fixtures, and machinery.
Master our point of sale systems and train staff
Be responsible for cash counting and depositing
Create weekly and monthly earned revenue and attendance reports
Assist executive director, programs manager, education department, curator, and the events team on an ad hoc basis
Do whatever it takes! Be willing to get your hands dirty and assist with all manner of tasks
Have an aptitude for conflict resolution, negotiation, and creating positive outcomes
Are an excellent project manager who can prioritize and manage time effectively while simultaneously handling multiple tasks
Have an entrepreneurial spirit and strong problem-solving skills
Have strong interpersonal, collaborative, written communication, and customer service skills
Are willing to learn to how to use any POS and database systems you aren’t already familiar with
Are able to quickly switch gears and demonstrate your Swiss Army Knife arsenal of skills as circumstances and priorities shift
Previous retail/front-of-house management experience
