A Glimpse Into MOFAD’s Curatorial Process

In 2013, MOFAD’s first exhibition featured a 1930s-era breakfast cereal puffing gun. Since then we have acquired hundreds of food- and drink- related artifacts. Here, we present a behind-the-scenes look at some of our favorite objects in the growing MOFAD collection.

What food and drink objects would you add to the Museum’s collection?

When considering a new addition to our collection, we assess the object’s importance with regard to each of the following aspects of the MOFAD mission:

  • History and culture

  • Science and technology

  • Production and commerce

  • Policy and ethics

Each item on display could be part of a larger exhibition in the future full-scale Museum of Food and Drink or used for research.
