IN-PERSON EVENT
Do you remember the first time you ate a meal and realized how much the chef loved you? Do you remember the first time you didn’t just “cook some food,” but you “prepared a meal”?
Through the power of conversation, music, poetry, and drag performance, together we will discuss the love and community that is created through food. Junior Mintt invites you to celebrate and rejoice in Black Trans Power while interrogating the meaning of soul food as an integral part of her identity. So, while we’re filling our stomachs we’ll also be filling our souls.
This is an in-person event. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the door.
You must show photo ID and proof of COVID vaccine to attend this event.
Doors open at 6:30pm ET. Program begins promptly at 7:00pm ET. 21+.

JUNIOR MINTT
Junior Mintt is out to show how Mintty the world can be with a little kindness, empathy and a strong Black, Trans, Queer perspective. She is the creator of Mintty Makeup and has been featured in Vogue, The CUT, ID, and Gayletter for the work she does not only on stage, but also in the community. She is a co-host of the Brooklyn Liberation March and the creator and producer of “In Living Color," a drag variety show operating for 2+ years showcasing the talents of our Black, Brown and Trans community. You feel her message of Black Transpower through motivational speaking, burlesque, drag, visual arts, and stand up flavors with an empowering and intersectional twist. No matter what classroom, stage or runway you see Junior Mintt, you will leave feeling motivated and embraced.
DEMO KITCHEN BY ACE HOTEL BROOKLYN
A well-appointed canvas for culinary and community engagement, Demo Kitchen by Ace Hotel is a locus of epicurean culture — dedicated to cooking, connection and above all, community. A light-filled space with floor to ceiling windows, Demo Kitchen features an induction cooking station from Kaliber Innovations, an array of state-of-the-art audiovisual production equipment, and is furnished with custom oak classroom and dining tables crafted by Finnish furniture design collective Made By Choice. Demo Kitchen has capacity for 96 people and is also available for private rental.
